Installed in the water inlet, the Mechanical Bar Screen operates by rotating the chain wheel in a directional and even speed. This motion causes the entire rake chain to move, effectively separating solid sundries attached to the teeth from the liquid. The fluid then flows away through the resulting gap.
When the rake chain reaches its upper end, each group of rakes performs self-cleaning by dropping out most of the solid material under gravity and the guideline rail. Any remaining solid material is thoroughly cleaned by the back running brush.
