The multi media filter is a highly efficient water treatment solution that effectively removes suspended impurities and clarifies water. By using one or several filter media, such as quartz sand, Anthracite, and manganese sand, the filter can achieve a turbidity removal of below 3 degrees. It is commonly used for water treatment, softening water, and pre-treatment of pure water.
When the raw water flows through the filter material from top to bottom, the surface of the filter layer intercepts suspended solids through adsorption and mechanical flow resistance. As the water reaches the middle of the filter layer, the tightly arranged sand particles provide more opportunities for particles in the water to collide with sand particles. This leads to the adhesion of flocs, suspended solids, and sand particles, trapping impurities in the filter material layer and resulting in clear water quality. The filtered effluent typically contains less than 5 milligrams per liter of suspended solids.
